Marine Corp Air Station Beaufort
The Marine Corps Air Station is an air base located three miles northwest of the central business district of Beaufort, SC. About 4,200 men and women serve at the station, fulfilling the MCAS mission to provide high quality training opportunities.
Located in the heart of South Carolina’s Lowcountry, the Marine Corp Air Station is situated among southern patriotism and seaside beauty. On March 1, 1960, The Naval Air Station in Beaufort was redesignated as the Marine Corps Air Station.
With over 6,900 acres, the installation is home to seven Marine Corps F/A/18 squadrons. Two additional Navy squadrons joined the community in 2000, strengthening the MCAS’s economic contribution to Beaufort.
Located on US Highway 21, The Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort also provides group tours upon request. They also hold an air show every other year that is open for public viewing.
