Port Royal, SC
Port Royal is nestled between the Beaufort River and Battery Creek in South Carolina’s Lowcountry. This community is well known as the home of two military installations: Marine Corps Recruit Depot and the Naval Hospital. The Marine Corps Air Station is a short distance away in neighboring Beaufort.
Port Royal was established as one of the first French settlements on the east coast in 1562. Jean Ribault first explored the territory and started the first French colony. Port Royal is proud of its heritage and is rich in historical legacy.
